Protocol conversion and data flow control with UC-7110 and UC-7420

For industrial applications such as SCADA systems and environmental monitoring, protocol conversion is a major task that affects the entire system. It often takes a lot of effort for system integrators to port the relevant software to the devices that are assigned the task of transforming one protocol into another. In fact, a bigger challenge is to establish multi-point communication at the field site, and it is even harder to find a simple and easy method of setting up network redundancy.

A well-established European company is using MOXA's UC-7110 and UC-7420 embedded computers to construct a reliable system that can handle complex protocol conversion tasks, and support redundant network communication. The multiple interfaces that UC-7110 and UC-7420 offer give system integrators a straightforward way to connect different controllers to provide transparent network communication. Software programmers have even found it easy to port the software used to send proprietary telegrams (fire detection, intrusion control, CCTV, event detection, light control, etc.) to communicate with standard protocols, such as Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU, and IEC 60870-5-104. You can even improve the control of data flow to increase the stability of network communication between devices and the control center. Moreover, this kind of system can be used as a redundant structure to guarantee continuous operation of the architecture. Reduce cabling complexity and simplify your system architecture to get a cost-effective solution that fulfills the demands of industry.
