Using
UC-7420
Universal Communicator:
Remote Monitoring and Diagnostic System (RM&D) |
| |
Remote
Monitoring and Diagnostic Systems (RM&D) are often
used to better control a company's existing maintenance,
repair, and operation status. RM&D systems allow you
to monitor and diagnose your devices from a remote site,
reducing the overall production cost, minimizing downtime,
and increasing operation efficiency. Through the Internet,
you can easily collect and analyze data from a central
location, allowing you to better control and protect the
health of your assets.
UC-7420 Universal Communicator is the ideal solution for
you to establish an RM&D system. UC-7420 is a Linux-ready
communication Platform with eight 3-in-1 serial communication
ports, dual Ethernet ports, and wireless communication
expansion, making it an ideal communication controller
for RM&D systems. The eight serial ports can connect
to the analog and digital I/O modules to monitor status,
including the storage tank level, temperature, power pressure,
and humidity, or remotely access the devices via the console
port. The network interfaces include Ethernet, Wireless
LAN, GSM, and dial-up. And network services, such as SNMP,
Web, XML, SMTP, and SMS are also available. With all of
these interfaces, you can easily access the devices by
using a standard Internet software interface, such as
Web browser or email. Apart from these interfaces and
3-in-1 serial ports, the data and messages can be encrypted
by using standard protocols, such as Security Socket Layer
(SSL), providing a VPN tunnel for secure Internet communication.
The CompactFlash interface of the UC-7420 offers extra
storage capability to document data history with time
stamp. And the built-in Linux OS makes it easy for you
to port your application software to the UC-7420. With
its considerable features and better price, UC-7420 is
a much better choice than an IPC.
