China's "Great Hall of the People," one of the largest buildings in China, and the home of the Chinese government for almost half a century, is now also the home of Moxa C320Turbo. Used in conjunction with the C32065T connection option, the system monitors and controls the building's elevator units, greatly improving the previous situation. Originally, as with most elevator systems around the world, maintenance staff needed to make frequent visits to each of the elevators to check function and safety criteria. But now, with Moxa products used as part of a comprehensive monitor and control system, much of this laborious footwork can be taken care of directly from the control center. In fact, this type of situation is preferable, since elevator malfunctions can be recognized almost as they happen, and responded to with equal speed.
The control center has a Legend PC running Windows 2000, although most popular operating systems, including DOS, Windows 3.x/NT/95/98, SCO UNIX, UNIX SVR4, Linux, Solaris x86, OS/2, and QNX, are also supported. The MOXA C320Turbo card is installed directly inside the PC, with the C32065T connection option, an 8-port RS-422 extending module, attached externally. Each of the extending module's serial ports connects to a control box, and then the control boxes are connected by cables to the individual elevators.
MOXA C320Turbo is not only easy to set up, easy to install, and easy to maintain, it is also versatile, extremely reliable, and economical. |
